Lease, как правило, относится к такой недвижимости, как land земля; houses строения, дома; buildings территория; an area район. Обычно lease описывает крупную недвижимость и предполагает аренду на достаточно долгий срок и, главным образом, для деловых людей

CHOICE OF WORDS:
(1.) Русские нанимать, снимать, сдавать в аренду/внаем соответствуют в английском языке группе слов, значение которых различается в зависимости от того, что и насколько сдается/берется в наем/аренду: to lease, to lease out, to rent, to rent out, to hire, to hire out, to employ, to take on, to let. В значении 1. глагол имеет два варианта: to lease smth to smb и to lease smth out to smb (2.) Глагол to rent и to rent out описывает наем любых предметов, но на определенный, оговоренный срок любой продолжительности; имеет также два значения: to rent smth from smb и to rent/to rent out smth to smb; to rent smth out более упоребительно в американском варианте, в британском варианте это значение передается глаголом to let smth и to let smth out to smb От глагола to rent есть два производных существительных: rent и rental. Существительное rent образует словосочетания типа: high (low) a rent большая (низкая) плата; to pay the rent плата за квартиру/за прокат; to raise the rent повысить плату; to be back with one's rent задолжать за квартиру/за прокат. Rental обычно имеет форму только единственного числа и обозначает плату за время проката машины, лодки, телевизора, инструментов: car rental is very expensive here стоимость проката машины здесь очень высока; car rental shop станция проката; a rental car машина, взятая на прокат. В Британском английском hire и rent различаются периодами, на которые что-либо сдается/нанимается: to hire a car for the weekend, но to rent a house for two years; You can hire a car at the airport. Вы можете взять машину на прокат в аэропорту. В Британском английском hire может относиться и к людям: to hire a gardener (a carpenter) нанять (на короткое время) садовника (плотника); His main responsibility is hiring and firing. Его работа состоит в том, чтобы нанимать на работу и увольнять сотрудников. Если человека нанимают на более длительный срок, то используется глагол to employ или глагол to take smb on: We'll employ a new secretary. Мы будем брать на работу нового секретаря.
